A moonlight tryst

We sat there baring our souls,
Licking our wounds as we spoke,
We came undone, the warp and weft giving way,
Each thread, each fiber once taut with tension,
Loosening with effortless ease,
Threadbare souls, naked, exposed,
We built castles in the sky,
We saw each other under a moonlit night,
Hoping the sun wouldn't rise.

Where the night holds secrets

My latest find 'The Dalai Lama's Cat has been an absolute delight! A simple story narrated from the point of view of a cat, adopted by the Dalai Lama, it's a treasure trove of simple truths and insights. I really wish I'd chanced upon it earlier.

With new designs and pending orders, making the time to finish this beauty has been a bit of a struggle. But tonight it seemed like the universe complied. With the gentle pitter-patter of raindrops on my window, a comfortable bed and my favourite book for company I decided to make the time to something I love. I must confess I haven't been reading as much as I used to in the past, so here's my baby step in the right direction. Books take me to another world, a place where I get to visualise every word in the tale. I've missed that feeling and the wonderful journeys I've been a part of in my minds eye.

Guess it time to warp this up at get back to my love!

Moonbeams and dancing feet

The moonlight lit up the dark alleys in her mind,
As she danced alone under it's watchful eye,
To songs she'd never heard,
The rustling wind and the babbling brook,
Clutching closely to her heart a new beat,
She finally found her feet.

Her body swayed as she came undone,
In her raven hair,
A thousand stars caught flashing by,
Glistening sweat trickling down her neck,
She finally found her feet,
It's only here she could really be free.

Sodium lights and street flowers

Darkness fell silently, a curtain call on the day done by,
She walked down sodium lit streets with a wish on her lips,
Lips that wouldn't move, thoughts that moved too quickly,
A dirty street, studded with little white flower stars.
