What's going on in that traveller mind!

“The pleasure we derive from journeys is perhaps dependent more on the mindset with which we travel than on the destination we travel to.” -Alain de Botton

I remember reading this beautiful quote by Alain de Botton recently, unlike most of the other travel quotes I've chanced upon, this one struck a deep chord. We often find ourselves travelling to escape from our reality, we travel to be with friends, we travel to find ourselves, we travel to enrich ourselves. It's a really fun exercise, to try and go back in time and recollect  what was your exact mindset was just before your boarded that flight, took that train or hopped onto that bus.

Trust me you'll be pleasantly surprised, to find out how much your mindset influenced your travels. Some of the fondest memories and wildest trips I've had, have been the ones which weren't planned or where I was looking to take a break and escape from reality.

Sea salt scrub

Another amazing find during one of my recent nocturnal internet trolling nights.

Mia Hollow's poems feel like a sea salt scrub to me,they seem to rub my thoughts raw, peeling away the old and exposing the new [I'm sure it's just the way i feel]but nevertheless do check out her work on tumblr

Against the grain should be a way of life!

It's so strange but i've been asked this question quite a few times! Why do you do what you do?Or don't you ever get bored painting?!
Maybe i'm alone when my answer to this is simply, because "I FUCKING LOVE DOING IT"
It's so sad, that for starters i have to actually verbalise it and the more saddening part of it is why do people have to ask that question.I'm my world do what you love to do or shut the fuck up!

For ever second, minute, hour, week, month I've spent labouring over my artwork the ironic part is,it never felt that long!It was truly enjoyable, liberating, fulfilling!!!Whenever i paint i feel uplifted like i'm in my little bubble  of bright colours and eclectic designs.Never has there been a day where I've had to get up and groan at the work in store for me!Guess that find your calling or following your passion.

Against the grain should be a way of life,
What's worth the prize is always worth the fight.

If that sound familiar its the lyrics to one of my favourite bands Nickelback and the song is-If today was your last day!

I've started a really simple wall mural to capture these profound lyrics, pics to come soon!!
