Moonbeams and star kissed dreams

"You need chaos in your life to give birth to a dancing star" - Friedrich Nietzsche

I've always believed my life is a bit of an organised chaos and I never felt it more over the last couple of days, with a hundred things to do, each one tugging hard in different directions. When every muscle in your body aches, it's a beautifully awesome ache, one I live for, one I cherish. It's in these small moments, when the world sleeps, I feel my world makes absolute sense and I make sense. So with guns a blazing it's time to crack it up a notch and take on the next task.

Here's a glimpse into one facet of my delightful chaos, they are almost ready to be packed with love and shipped to the United States, safe journey my pretty precious!

Biennale!! Oh you were everything I imagined and so much more

With the lingering smell of fried fish that wafts out of every home in Kerala and coconut coir fires that seem to magically tend themselves all day long, my trip to Kerala was a wonderfully refreshing one!

After a week of hairpin bends and swirling through roads engulfed by luscious green foliage, the last leg of my 10 days trip caught me standing outside the 'Aspin wall' in Fort Kochi at the whimsical 'Kochi-Muziris Biennale'.It breaks my heart that I chanced upon this gem with only one day in hand. Here's glimpse into this wonderfully creative and inspiring Art festival, I really do wish I had more time to explore the nooks and crannies that makes Biennale such an addictive delight.

Mad Girl's Love Song

Spent the afternoon rummaging through old books and new and came across this beautiful poem by Sylvia Plath. There's a part of me that totally relates to this poem, I feel many a time, in hindsight I've been walking around with tinted glasses on, I never really see the whole picture in it's true shades, often till it's to late.

Mad Girl's Love Song

"I shut my eyes and all the world drops dead;
I lift my lids and all is born again.
(I think I made you up inside my head.)

The stars go waltzing out in blue and red,
And arbitrary blackness gallops in:
I shut my eyes and all the world drops dead.

I dreamed that you bewitched me into bed
And sung me moon-struck, kissed me quite insane.
(I think I made you up inside my head.)

God topples from the sky, hell's fires fade:
Exit seraphim and Satan's men:
I shut my eyes and all the world drops dead.

I fancied you'd return the way you said,
But I grow old and I forget your name.
(I think I made you up inside my head.)

I should have loved a thunderbird instead;
At least when spring comes they roar back again.
I shut my eyes and all the world drops dead.
(I think I made you up inside my head.)"

I do a thing called what I want

Here's to strong women,
May we know them,
May we be them,
May we raise them.

Happy womans day!

Celebrating all the strong, passionate women out there, who are not afraid to go against the grain!

" We are all artists, painting our lives upon the canvas of reality" - Cristen Rodgers

I came across this beautiful quote by Cristen Rodgers which reads,

" We are all artists, painting our lives upon the canvas of reality".

It's a wonderful way to articulate the interplay between reality and perception, from an artists stand point I've often noticed that many a time inspiration or events in my life have a strong influence on my artwork and sometimes I guess, when I paint my artwork  it subconsciously plays an integral role in shaping or changing my perception of reality. Just the other day a friend of mind was asking me about the creative process behind my designs and artwork, I still need to delve deeper to be able to have an answer that is all encompassing.

Mulling aside I'm thrilled to share some vibrant behind the scenes pictures of some of the designs I've been working on over the lsat couple of weeks. Welcome to my little sunshine desk and into the little bursts of colour it holds!
