This ones for all the Tea lovers or Tea addicts

I'm a tad bit of a tea addict,i can't function like a normal human being without my fist cup of tea.I'm sure I'm not alone on this one,but brewing that first cup is my zen time,as i wait patiently for the water to boil and the tea leaves release their delightful golden auburn colour. The wait is definitely worth the while.

This morning my tea ritual became all the more serene, with the pleasure of pouring pipping hot tea from one of my favourite hand-painted kettles into my new Something Fishy mugs.Of course we have to have matching coasters to keep the horrid tea stains and cup rings at bay!

Tea bliss is what i feel today!what a wonderful way to start the day!!

Introducing Ernie the owl!!

A wise owl sat on an oak ,
The more he saw the less he spoke,
The less he spoke the more he heard,
Why aren’t we like that wise old bird?
-Edward Hersey Richards.

Introducing Ernie the owl,he’s worldly- wise,a suave, sophisticated charmer nonetheless.
This very detailed, eclectic illustration is the first of the series of whimsical artwork by Pyjama Party

Creativity is Madness-Shots of Awe by Jason Silva

I'm a huge fan of the philosopher, visionary and media artist Jason Silva. If you haven't seen his work i urge you to check out Shots of Awe a wonderful series with delightfully engaging quote, little anecdotes and a beautiful montage of eye catching visuals. He talks about everything from Love,death,technology,pain,creativity...This is one of my favourite films-Creativity is Madness

"We might say that both the artist and theneurotic bite off more than they can chew, but the artist spews it back out again and chews it over in an objectified way, as an external, active, work project..."
- Ernest Becker

Wabi-Sabi

Wabi-Sabi is a philosophy, a thought perspective or a way of seeing things that i didn't even realise i was doing for the longest time.I chanced upon the Japanese term many years ago when i was a planner and was delighted, that there existed a term for the way i see life.I'm super excited to introduce this philosophy for those of you who don't know about it ,in a this little artwork i've done.Rest assured you'll see more of it in the days to come in the new Pyjama Party range of products.

Coming very soon!!

Susan Sontag once called the artist "a hand worker in an era of mass production." For an art studio like ours, it's always been about the nuances, the little imperfections, the finer details that come from the process of creating the art by hand. In an offshoot of our pursuit of handmade beauty, we are finding a beautiful common ground.
In our new exclusive limited edition collection, inspired by the Japanese aesthetic 'Wabi-Sabi', we blend the traditional with the modern! Hand-drawn illustrations and paintings digitally produced on selective everyday products.

Kathakali dancer hand-painted teapot/kettle

Chanced upon this poem a while ago, thought its a total fit for this post.

We dance for laughter,
We dance for tears,
We dance for madness,
We dance for fears,
We dance for hopes,
We dance for screams,
We are the dancers,
We create the dreams.

If you haven't seen a Kathakali performance in the flesh its something you must do!!Flamboyant costumers, wild wild make up,brilliant emotions and sheer passion is what each performance is.I'd been lucky to have caught a couple of performances in the past and each on blew my away.

Us pseudo mallus sometimes find our way back to our roots so here's a Kathakali dancer kettle paying homage to the culturally rich and vibrant land i hail from.

"To watch us dance is to hear our hearts speak"
