Albert the eagle

The Eagle

He clasps the crag with crooked hands;
Close to the sun in lonely lands,
Ring'd with the azure world, he stands.
The wrinkled sea beneath him crawls;
He watches from his mountain walls,
And like a thunderbolt he falls.
-ALFRED, LORD TENNYSON

Paint your own rainbow!!

When it rains in Mumbai it pours!!

The last couple of days have been quite an adventure,wading through flooded streets,stocking up on essentials,power cuts and candle lit dinners as a result of which.All in all i think the monsoons at times bring havoc and chaos to our lives.I choose to make the most of this state of chaos,sketches and painting are in store,maybe under the calming flame of a candle if need be!!
With my faithful brush as a companion I'm all set to brave the rains this year.

This ones for all the Tea lovers or Tea addicts

I'm a tad bit of a tea addict,i can't function like a normal human being without my fist cup of tea.I'm sure I'm not alone on this one,but brewing that first cup is my zen time,as i wait patiently for the water to boil and the tea leaves release their delightful golden auburn colour.The wait is definitely worth the while.

This morning my tea ritual became all the more serene,with the pleasure of pouring pipping hot tea from one of my favourite hand-painted kettles into my new Something Fishy mugs.Of course we have to have matching coasters to keep the horrid tea stains and cup rings at bay!

Tea bliss is what i feel today!what a wonderful way to start the day!!

Wabi-Sabi

Wabi-Sabi is a philosophy, a thought perspective or a way of seeing things that i didn't even realise i was doing for the longest time.I chanced upon the Japanese term many years ago when i was a planner and was delighted, that there existed a term for the way i see life.I'm super excited to introduce this philosophy for those of you who don't know about it ,in a this little artwork i've done.Rest assured you'll see more of it in the days to come in the new Pyjama Party range of products.

Coming very soon!!

Susan Sontag once called the artist "a hand worker in an era of mass production." For an art studio like ours, it's always been about the nuances, the little imperfections, the finer details that come from the process of creating the art by hand. In an offshoot of our pursuit of handmade beauty, we are finding a beautiful common ground.
In our new exclusive limited edition collection, inspired by the Japanese aesthetic 'Wabi-Sabi', we blend the traditional with the modern! Hand-drawn illustrations and paintings digitally produced on selective everyday products.
