A picture paints a thousand words

" Let the beauty of what you love be what you do" -Rumi

I love this quote by Rumi and I'm thrilled to let everyone know I've been toiling away for the past couple of weeks to launch a new range of canvas art, details of which will be up soon. We will be retailing both original artwork and canvas prints of a spanking new range of colourful artwork.

It's been something I've been meaning to do for a long long time and we are so close to the finish line, the butterflies in my stomach reflect the excitement!!

Stay tuned for more details on the artworks and prints!! Here's a sneak peek into some of the artwork that will be up for grabs soon!

Moonbeams and star kissed dreams

"You need chaos in your life to give birth to a dancing star" - Friedrich Nietzsche

I've always believed my life is a bit of an organised chaos and I never felt it more over the last couple of days, with a hundred things to do, each one tugging hard in different directions. When every muscle in your body aches, it's a beautifully awesome ache, one I live for, one I cherish. It's in these small moments, when the world sleeps, I feel my world makes absolute sense and I make sense. So with guns a blazing it's time to crack it up a notch and take on the next task.

Here's a glimpse into one facet of my delightful chaos, they are almost ready to be packed with love and shipped to the United States, safe journey my pretty precious!

Idyllic Saturday afternoons

This is what idyllic Saturday afternoons look like,Tracy Chapman in the background,a pot of tea brewing merrily in the kitchen.Paints, brushes and lots of colour!!This teapot is work in progress one of six teapots I'm supposed to finish soon, four down two more to go.

Colour overdoes, guess i got a little carried away!!Did this on a 4x4 piece of plywood.Love what happened to my fingertips even more!!!

With the setting of the sun, there was more to finish or attempt at finishing,so i have an embarrassing number of pieces i have left unfinished. For some reason today seems like a good day to attempt at finishing them.

Banjaran Beauty

The Banjaran Beauty design is something i throughly enjoy painting and have quite a few colour and design options for you to choose from.Just a little bit about the Banjaras, they are a nomadic tribe in india and are spread across quite a few states, they are know for their vibrant clothes and beautiful, heavy jewellry. Banjara Women's dressing is the most colourful and elaborate among the other tribal communities in India. They are accustomed to wearing the costumes of "ghaghra" and "choli"(a blouse). Ghaghra is a skirt embellished with pieces of mirrored glass that are embroidered on it with tiny white beads.I've tried ton incorporate the same elements in my design. They also wear pretty silver anklets. Silver, brass, gold, cowries, ivory, animal bone and even plastic are used in making a Banjara wardrobe.
Care Instructions:Kindly refrain from using an abrasive scrub on the outer surface of the kettle
Use:The kettle can be used to serve tea[please do not place on a direct flame],it can be used as a decor piece or a quirky plant holder

Weight: 1 kg - 2 kg
Color: red

Length: 25 cm Width: 20 cm Height: 25 cm

To place an order drop me a mail at pyjamapartydesigns@gmail.com or do check out our Facebook page for more delightful hand-painted designs.

Bharatanatyam dancer -handpainted teapot/kettle

I've trained in Bharatanatyam when i was a kid and till date every time i watch a dancer performance i'm spell bound.Theres so much grace in the story telling and the vibrancy of the dancers movements and well as the beautiful ornaments inspires me to want to paint something to capture the beauty of this dance form.
One of my favourite dancers is Smt,Alarmel Valli she just so happens to be a close family friend,if you haven't caught in performances in the past i do recommend you do whenever she performs in your city. She's performed all over the world and is truly a visual treat to watch!!This kettle is dedicated to all the lovely ladies who love art, culture and dance!!

If you look through my product portfolio i've done quite a few renditions of the Bharatanatyam dancer, heres another design to add to that :)
